Saying Richard Dutcher is the best filmmaker in the realm of LDS Cinema today is (a) true, and (b) not really much of a compliment, given the competition. (Like saying Steve Young is the best quarterback ever to come from Greenwich, Connecticut)

Review: The Work & The Glory Part 3 — A House Divided (B+)
Attempting to film a nine-volume series of books is, to say the least, an ambitious endeavor. Even with Hollywood’s constant fascination with creating sequels, there have been only two series in movie history that have reached nine films (Friday the 13th and James Bond 007 — neither of which require much narrative continuity between films anyway.)

Review: The Singles 2nd Ward (C-)
Okay, I *know* you’re not supposed to expect much from a direct-to-DVD, low-budget local film, especially a sequel to a LDS comedy that itself was pretty hit-and-miss as far as laughs.
